Virtual Coaching for Broadcast Meteorologists available en Español

When the pandemic hit in early 2020, I realized in-person talent coaching wasn’t going to happen for a while. Like every business, I needed to pivot.

Several weeks later, I launched WxCommPro, a virtual coaching program that combines online lessons in communication strategy with one-on-one coaching sessions using Zoom.

The reaction from broadcast meteorologists who’ve completed the program has been overwhelmingly positive. “WxCommPro is not meant to disrupt or completely change what you are already doing, but rather help to refine the message you are giving on a daily basis,” wrote Shel Winkley, Chief Meteorologist at KBTX in College Station, Texas. “I feel like I am serving viewers and consumers better.”

Based on the success of WxCommPro, I am excited to announce the program is now available in Spanish! WxCommPro Español includes the same content, professionally translated into Spanish.

Each of the eight online lessons includes a short (4-5 minute) video with Spanish subtitles, accompanying notes, downloadable worksheets, and additional resources for continued professional development. Five one-on-one performance coaching sessions are integrated into the lessons to accelerate professional development. That’s more coaching than some broadcast meteorologists get their entire career!

Broadcast meteorologists are encouraged to complete one lesson per week. However, enrollees can also work at their own pace as long as all lessons and coaching sessions are completed within 90 days of registration.
